Holy Rosary Catholic Voluntary Academy

Loving Heart – Strong Mind

Welcome

Welcome to Holy Rosary Catholic Voluntary Academy

I am delighted to welcome you and your child to Holy Rosary Catholic Voluntary Academy and pre-school – a happy and thriving primary school where we - headteacher, staff, governors, our Parish, pupils and parents work together to live out our vision.  We are growing together as part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust within the Parish of St Joseph the Worker in the Nottingham Roman Catholic Diocese of Nottingham   We achieved academy status in September 2018.

Holy Rosary Catholic Primary School opened officially in March 1966 on its current site on Alexandra Road, Winshill, with 170 pupils.  We have grown in popularity and we now have 260 pupils from pre-school to age 11 which reflects the belief and trust that our Catholic community has for the future of our academy.  We are proud to have a diverse community serving families from 19 countries, speaking 14 different languages.

We are an inclusive community with a vision built around the Gospel Values and the traditions of the Catholic Church:

“Building loving hearts and strong minds in union with God and each other”

nurturing the talents and potential of each individual. We work together to achieve high standards and high expectations in terms of teaching and children's learning, behaviour and standards of achievement; a place where children, staff, parents and the community can come together to learn, to share, to grow in the love of God.

We know that parents are the first and most important educators of their children. The staff and governors therefore foster and encourage a partnership between home, school and parish so that together we can help each child to develop and flourish in a happy, secure and caring environment.

I hope that you will find this website interesting and informative and that you will enjoy learning about our academy and what we can offer your child.  We are constantly improving our facilities for the benefit of our children and we extend a very warm welcome to all who visit us.  Why not get in touch so that we can show you round our happy and caring school.

We look forward to welcoming you soon. God bless.

Mr Timothy Brogan

Headteacher
