Holy Rosary Catholic Voluntary Academy

Loving Heart – Strong Mind

Holy Rosary Governance Arrangements

Holy Rosary has a local governing body (LGB) which is a sub-committee of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Nottingham has given the following general remit to Local Governing Bodies:

"The first duty of foundation governors is to act on behalf of the diocesan bishop in ensuring that the Catholic character of the school is preserved and developed."

In addition to this, each LGB is charged with:

  • Through support and challenge, holding the senior leaders to account for pupil outcomes which include Key Stage results and wider outcomes relating to spiritual, moral, social, sport, cultural and the arts
  • Strengthening further the links between the local and parish community and the Academy Trust's Board of Directors
  • Monitoring the impact of behaviour and attendance policies
  • Determining admissions on behalf of the Academy Trust

The Scheme of Delegation provides greater detail about responsibilities of the LGB.

Holy Rosary Governing Body Vision

Our Vision is to:

Build loving hearts and strong minds

in union with God and each other

God our Father

Thank you for our school, our community and Your unconditional love which brings us all together.

Help us to be kind and fair, giving every person, adult or child, the dignity and respect they deserve.

Mary, our mother, and Jesus, Your son, showed us a loving example of courage and strength. We will use their example to be the best that we can be. We will not give up, finding strength in You to guide us. We will be brave, standing up for what is right, even when we are in doubt. We will be loving, as the Holy Family are loving.

With Your help, our loving hearts will grow and our minds will strengthen so that we can be a living example of your message to everyone we meet.      Amen

With God’s help

A loving heart will :

  • value everyone with dignity and respect;
  • seek the happiness of others as well as their own;
  • recognise and challenge inequalities and unfairness.
    A strong mind will:
  • do what is right;
  • never give up;
  • always aim high.
